Parent Volunteers

EHYHA would like to thank everyone who has or wants to step forward to volunteer. Your time, leadership, and commitment play a vital role in creating a safe, organized, and positive experience for our players and families.

Required steps for all volunteers (including Team Managers)

1) Register with USA Hockey (Free)

All volunteers must complete a USA Hockey volunteer registration. There is no cost to register. After registering, you will receive a USA Hockey Number.

2) Submit your USA Hockey Number

Once you have your USA Hockey Number, please submit it to the EHYHA Registrar who can be found on the ABOUT > COACHES and STAFF section

3) Complete SafeSport Certification (Required)

All volunteers must complete SafeSport training, which is designed to educate adults and protect our athletes from misconduct and abuse. SafeSport is an annual requirement—the initial course is more extensive, and a shorter refresher is completed each year afterward.

Family volunteer expectations

To support the team throughout the season, it is strongly recommended that each family has at least one—ideally two—adults register with USA Hockey as volunteers and complete SafeSport certification. Families will be asked to assist with key gameday and team operations, including:

• time clock
• scorekeeper
• locker room monitor
• penalty box doors
• and other team support roles as needed
